毎回、経験豊富な専門員の先生を講師にお招きし、離島やへき地のような特殊な環境で役立つ実践的な手技や知識について回毎のテーマに沿ってご教示いただく『Rural Skills』。
今回は、『RGPJ』が始動してからこちら指導医としてずっとお世話になってきている山口 純子先生が壇上に立ち、「産婦人科」について講義をしていただきました。
総合診療の中においても少々特殊な領域と言える「産婦人科」ですが、今回はその中でも「女性の急性腹症」に焦点を絞られた山口先生。
原因も症状も様々な「女性の急性腹症」に対する鑑別のポイントから処置における注意点やコツまで、総合診療医として抑えておきたい知識を伝授してくださいました。
ほとんどの先生方にとって「産婦人科」は半ば ”未知の領域” であったはずでしたが、五年以上にわたりゲネプロの研修生を指導し続けてきた経験値を持つ山口先生ならではの、要点や研修生が疑問に思うだろう点を的確に押さえた解説のおかげで、研修生の誰もが終始興味深そうに山口先生のお話に耳を傾けている姿が印象的でした。

また今回、実際に経験した症例を題材にした症例検討が行われましたが、実際に手術時の様子を撮影した画像や症例毎に用意された豊富なCT画像を用い、山口先生による解説と指導を基に画像を “読み解いて” いく研修生の先生方。
今回の講義を通じては、医師として非常に重要な「頭（知識）」だけにとどまらず、同じか、もしくはそれ以上に大切とも言える医師としての「眼」が大いに鍛えられたようでした。
The Rural Skills, one of our regular monthly webinars that focuses on enhancing the procedural skills highly required in rural and remote areas through the lectures by the veteran specialists, was conducted under the theme of “women’s health”, the other day.
For this time, we invited Dr. Junko Yamaguchi, who has been cooperating with us as an attending doctor of gynecology and obstetrics, as a speaker and she gave a really useful and practical lecture to the registrars.
In the lecture, she mainly focused on “acute abdomen in women” and introduced major conditions in it. Also, she talked about tips, tricks and traps in considering differentiate diagnosis or offering proper treatments for them.
Although the realm of gynecology and obstetrics must had not been familiar at all for the most of the registrars, all of them keenly listened at Dr. Yamaguchi and they seemed to be fully interested in the topic thanks to her clear-cut and friendly talks.
Moreover, she had prepared lots of photos and radiographs of the actual patients in advance as visual aid for the lecture. Actually, she conducted ground-round in the lecture and those photos were really useful in helping registrars’ understanding.
It seemed that finally all the registrars were successful in not only developing their “brain as doctor” but also strengthening their “eyes as doctor” through her practial-minded lecture.
