『南極にチャレンジする女性たち ―Polar Doctors in Japan ―』
南極地域観測隊に医療担当として参加している女性医師のお話。
南極という過酷な環境を持つへき地において、医師として求められる技術や心構えなどについて語ってくれています。
南極にチャレンジするには、やっぱり外科医としてのスキルも必要ですね。
なお、「オーストラリアへき地医療学会（ACRRM）」のプログラムにも、南極での研修プログラムが含まれています。
そして、今年の “Best Registrar of the Year”（オーストラリアへき地医療学会と「オーストラリアへき地医師会（RDAA）」によって、その年に最も目覚ましい功績を残した研修医に贈られる賞）を受賞したのも、その南極プログラムにて活躍したDr. Kate Klozaでした。
彼女の貴重な経験談を是非、ゲネプロの研修生たちにも語って頂きたいところです。
A female doctor who participates in Antarctic expedition team appeared in an interview.
In the interview, she told us on the skills and preparation as a doctor in Antarctica where a harsh environment still remains.
After I finished reading the interview, I’m sure that the surgical ability and skills must be necessary for doctors who would like to engage in Antarctic medicine.
By the way, Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) has been offering the training program that is conducted in Antarctica.
And, in Australia, there is an award called the “Best Registrar of the Year” – the award that is conferred by both ACRRM and Rural Doctors Association of Australia (RDAA) on a registrar who distinguished him/herself in the given year.
This year, Dr. Kate Kloza who once participated in the program received the honor of the award!
I strongly hope her to give an lecture to registrars of our training program on her exciting expericences.
