“田舎に住まう医師のための最新の教材” の提供を目的とする教育サイト、「Broome Docs」。

運営しているのは、オーストラリアのへき地であるキンバリー地域で、総合診療医として活躍されているケーシー・パーカー先生。

日々仕事に忙殺され、学びを深める機会を作り難い医師にとっての “学び舎” となることを目指し、自身が実際に経験した症例を中心に紹介しつつ、へき地医療の最前線を伝えてくれています。

 

そして、カナダ最大の都市圏であるグレーター・トロント・エリアにおいて、救急医として腕を振るうジャスティン・モルゲンシュテルン先生のことも忘れてはいけません。

モルゲンシュテルン先生が運営されている「蘇生処置」に関する教育サイト「First10EM」では、運び込まれてきた蘇生処置を要するような重症患者に対して、医師が執るべき処置や準備などについて、非常に有益かつ実践的な情報を学ぶことができます。

 

そんな2人の “教育者” がタッグを組み、様々な医学論文についての解説・議論を収録した音声教材「Journal Club」。

これまでにも定期的に配信されてきたJournal Clubですが、その最新号が今回新たに公開されました。

ちなみに、題材として取り上げられた論文はもちろん、過去に公開されたJournal Clubについても、すべてBroome Docsからアクセスすることが可能です。

 

 

なお、我々ゲネプロが提供する「RGPJ（Rural Generalist Program Japan）」においても、Broome Docsに公開されている記事を教材として、英語力および医学に関する知識の強化を図ります。

西オーストラリア州のへき地から届けられる最高の “生きた教材” を、日本に、ひいては世界に還元していきたいと思います。

“First10EM“, the website for educating about how the doctors should do or prepare for patients who need resuscitation.

 

Yes. Dr. Casey Parker and Dr. Justin Morgenstern, who are the site operators of Broome Docs and First10EM respectively, had teamed up and offered “Journal Club”, the audio learning material that consists of study and discussion on various medical papers.

 

Casey has been working as a GP in Broome, the city in rural area of Western Australia. Justin, also, has been engaged in the healthcare as an emergency physician in Great Toronto Area, the most populous metropolitan area in Canada.

 

This time, the latest issue of the material has be published by two fervent doctors on Broome Docs.

As well, the “RGPJ(Rural Generalist Program Japan)” is going to adopt those educational materials as textbooks for enhancing and deepening our registrars’ English skills and knowledge on healthcare.
