『我が離島医療に悔いなし ―Retirement of A GREAT Doctor―』

「医療の一番の面白いところは、自分の腕を磨くこと。そしてその結果、地域に還元できればこんなに嬉しいことはない。」
甑島に赴任してから、はや39年。
実直な姿勢で腕を磨き続け、信頼と愛情とを島民たちとの間に誠実に築き上げてこられた日々。
そんな瀬戸上先生がいよいよ明日、島を離れられるそうだ。
本当にお疲れさまでした。
“What I think the most interesting for me about healthcare is to enhance my own skills and techniques. And, there is nothing more joyous for me than improving the healthcare in the community as the result”, said Dr. Kenjiro Setoue.
Today, he finally retired from the forefront of island medicine after 39 challenging and rewarding years in Koshikijima Islands.
He had been enhancing his capabilities honestly and constructing an ideal relationships between the islanders genuinely.
Tomorrow, he is to leave the islands.
I would like to admire and thank all of his achievement from the heart.
