『古くて新しい医療としてのへき地医療 ―Workshop on Rural Remote Medicine―』
今回、日本プライマリ・ケア学会の「島嶼及びへき地医療委員会」にて、我々ゲネプロもワークショップを開催しました。
48人の枠はすぐにいっぱいとなり、嬉しいことに当日の見学者も10名を超えたということは、やはりへき地医療は古くて新しい医療なのかもしれません。
今回のワークショップの目的は、
『日本とオーストラリアの診療の幅を比較することで、より自分自身の診療の幅をもっと広げよう』
『地域に足りない医療を、どう学びどう身につけるか』
そのノウハウについて、オーストラリアに学びました。
「都会では医者を選べるが、へき地では医者を選べない。だからこそいい医者が必要なんだ」
フリンダース大学の学部長であるポール・ウォーリー氏の言葉が、特に印象的な会でした。
This time, We held a workshop at Japan Primary Care Association in Japan.
The main theme of our workshop was the following:
“To expand the range of medical care, by comparing the difference between Japan’s current situation and Australia’s”
“How to learn and realize the health care that the community you live in has lacked”
we learned about these topics from Australia.
“In urban areas, people have a large choice of doctors. On the other hand, people in rural remote areas don’t. So, we always need good doctors.”, said Paul Worley, a dean of Flinders University, in the workshop.
His words deeply impressed and inspired the enthusiasm in me. Thank you Paul!
