オーストラリアのタウンズビルにて開催された「RDAQ（Rural Doctors Association of Queensland）28th Annual Conference」に、ゲネプロ第1期生の青木信也先生とともに参加してまいりました。

へき地専門医（Rural Generalist）には、外来診療（General Practice）と病院診療（Hospital Medicine）、中でも手技系の医療（Procedural Medicine）との垣根――言い換えるならば、診療所と病院との間にあるバリアを崩していく役割があります。

であればこそ、実力のある開業医には積極的に病院に赴き、精力的に指導や診療を行って欲しいと思いますが、その前提となる「診療所と病院との間で、円滑に医師が循環できる仕組み」については、日本国内に十分に構築されているとは言えません。

 

開業医と病院との円滑な連携は、人材という医療資源の有効活用のみならず、若手医師を育成する上でも、重要な役割を果たす。

今回、RDAQの会場で多くの有意義な知識や意見に触れる中で、そう確信を深めました。

さて、最終日に開催された朝食会では、青木先生も壇上に。

不慣れな環境で堂々とスピーチを行うその雄姿を写真に収めましたので、どうぞご査収くださいませ(笑)

 

 

This time, I participated in the “RDAQ (Rural Doctors Association for Queensland) 28th Annual Conference” with Dr. Shinya Aoki, one of the first RGPJ registrars.

 

The Rural Generalists could play a central role in breaking down the barriers between clinics and hospitals, that is to say, the barriers between General Practice and Hospital Medicine, especially Procedural Medicine.

Therefore, I think the skillful practicing doctors should regularly visit hospital in order to proactively examine patients and feed their skills or experience to the hospital’s doctors.

 

The smooth cooperation between practicing doctors and hospitals could play a important function in terms of not only utilizing medical resources, but also training young doctors.

As I heard various opinions or discussed with the many participants in the conference, I hardened my convictions.

 

By the way, Dr. Aoki came to the stage at the venue of the “Stories from the Sticks”, a social networking breakfast for student and health professionals held on the final day.

He gave a speech with panache, though he was in an unfamiliar environment. Good Job, Dr. Aoki!
